LOW INCOME SUBSIDY

Enable New Zealand

If your child has vision concerns and is aged 15 years or under, they may qualify for the Ministry of Health children’s spectacle subsidy from Enable New Zealand. This subsidy is available to children whose families have a current community services card or children with high health user cards.

Children aged 15 years and under are entitled to $287.50 subsidy per year. The Enable subsidy can be used for examination fees, lenses, frames, eye patches, and some repairs. Children who require adult size frames may be able to claim an extra $51.00.

At Frederick Swain Optometrists we will work with our clients to  keep the costs within the subsidised amount.

Talk to us today to find out if your child qualifies for Enable assistance.
